Minimum requirements at the time of application for police officer; You must be 21 years of age, be a citizen of the United States, have completed 60 hours of college credits OR 3 years of active duty military experience with an Honorable Discharge OR have 5 years of prior police experience. You must also possess a valid driver’s license. The starting salary is: $50,664. After 18 months of service, it increases to $55,431. You must successfully pass a written exam, physical ability test, background investigation that includes a medical exam, drug screening, psychological evaluation and polygraph examination.
