Maria Kong served as President of NAREB from 2007-2009

• Formed a coalition with NAHREP(National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals) and AREAA (Asian Real Estate Association Of America) that led to convening the first Multicultural Legislative Conference
• Heightened NAREB’s  visibility and “voice” among policy and lawmakers by engaging professional communications counsel
• Broadened NAREB’s connections and dialogue among other advocacy and civil rights groups, policy and lawmaker
• Conceived and launched the State of Housing in Black America initiative during the NAREB Convention in Memphis, TN
• Produced NAREB’s first 5-year strategic plan
• Initiated NAREB’s Youth Leadership program
• Instituted a NAREB fund and support network to assist survivors of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita
